The conference brought together 100 persons and there were over 30 presentations. We did not expect an audience of such a size, which demonstrated the need for a periodic encounter between those dedicated to the design and development of new indicators. It also demonstrated that most new indicators depart from the input-output model based on STI statistics, working on existing publicly available sources and aiming to create what we now label as ‘positioning indicators’.
